There’s no commitment at this point. I’ll just walk you through the mentorship, answer any questions you have, and show you what it would look like to work together.

I hope to talk to you soon!

Hey there, author!

I’m Melissa LaShure, the founder of LiteraryScape, which is the company behind HCRW and The LiteraryScape Author Mentorship.

I’m an educator, author, and podcaster. My specialty is teaching others how to write, publish, and market their novels. Because let’s face it—the writing and publishing world can be overwhelming when you don’t know what you don’t know.

The LiteraryScape Author Mentorship is where you’ll learn everything you need to know to write, publish, and market your novels with success! This training is a customized process as you create your one-of-a-kind stories that bless your readers.

I’ll teach you the ins and outs of developing a solid plot with engaging characters and intriguing, witty dialogue that your readers will love. Then I’ll follow up the writing process with teaching you how to build and grow your author platform. Finally, I’ll help you develop a marketing plan that targets your readers, without drowning in advertising fees.

You might be thinking . . . sounds great, but can she really guarantee my author career will launch with success?

The truth . . . no, but it’s not because the program isn’t designed for it, but rather it takes hard work and perseverance on your part too.

What I can guarantee is that you’ll walk away with your first book launched and your readers primed for the next one; which you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and skills to meet your readers needs and grow your author career with clarity and confidence.

Let’s crack open each phase of the mentorship, so you can see the work it takes and how I can make the above guarantee to you.

Phase 1: The Writing Process

·  Character Development: Every great story begins with unforgettable characters. You’ll have access to video training and handouts that teach you the best practices behind developing these amazing characters, along with bi-weekly feedback from me.

·  Plot and Structure: Once your characters are developed, they’ll drive your plot as you create scenes and determine their reactions, which drive the direction of your story. A great novel has a solid plot and structure to draw the reader in and hold it all together. You will have access to video training and direct feedback from me to develop a plot that will hook and hog-tie your readers from the front cover to the back.

·  Drafting: Once you have your characters and plot in place, you’ll begin drafting your novel. During this process you will submit chapters to me for developmental editing. Throughout this process you’ll have bi-weekly one-on-one calls with me as we work through the developmental edit of your novel and create your back cover copy.

·  Magnet Reader: We will look at your novel and your characters’ backstory to create a magnet reader. This will come into play during phase 2 as we work on building your readership.

·  Editing: I will provide you with a list of recommended editors to whom you’ll send your manuscript for the copy edit, line edit, and proofread. This service is not covered in the cost of the mentorship. It takes many eyes to make a manuscript perfect. If you already have an editor you enjoy working with, you are welcome to use them.

·  Book Cover Design: It takes someone with a special gift to create the perfect cover for your book. This is not a gift I possess; however, I will provide you with the names of those who are gifted in this art. This service is also not covered in the cost of the mentorship. It takes an experienced cover designer to create a book cover that will capture readers’ attention and make them want to buy and read your book.

Phase 2: Building Your Author Platform

·  Author Website: You will have access to a series of video trainings to help you develop an author website that readers love, and that will enable you to set up various revenue streams. You’ll also receive feedback from me during our bi-weekly one-on-one calls, as you develop each part of your website.

·  Social Media: Determine if social media is for you, which platforms to use, and how to use them.

·  Podcast: Discover if a podcast is something you wish to pursue, how it can benefit your author career, and how to start one.

·  Email Platform: You’ll have access to hands-on training for setting up your ConvertKit account to curate your email list, automate your emails, and deliver your newsletter.

·  Explore Revenue Streams: We’ll work together through a series of bi-weekly one-on-one calls to determine what other revenue streams you would like to pursue as an author. Then we’ll develop a plan for creating and launching these with success.

Phase 3: Launching and Marketing Your Novel

·  Launch Planner: Create a calendar to plan out your book launch events.

·  Launch Team: Curate a launch team and beta readers.

·  Marketing Plan: Develop a plan to continuously market your book beyond the launch.

·  Kickstarter Campaign: Determine if a Kickstarter campaign is right for you. Develop a plan for launching and running a successful campaign.

The end result . . . You’ll know how to:

·  efficiently craft a novel that will serve your readers and honor God

·  continue to build your author platform

·  launch your next novel

·  maintain and develop your marketing plan

·  grow your author business.

And if not, I’ll work with you for another month for FREE to get you there.

 FAQs

  • My goal is to help you write a novel, build your author platform, and launch and market your book in 18 months. This is an accelerated program because I want you to get results fast—but not at a pace that kills you or generates sloppy results.

The first six months are spent developing your writing craft as you create your characters, plot, and begin to draft your novel. During this time you’ll have video courses on writing craft, handouts to guide your planning, and bi-weekly one-on-one calls with me for feedback.

That means for the first four to six weeks you’ll be in training and beginning to develop your characters and plot. I estimate you’ll put in 8-10 hours a week.

The next 18 to 20 weeks you will be drafting and revising with bi-weekly one-on-one calls with me. This is the most intensive part of the writing process where you will be putting in 10-12 hours a week.

Phase 2: Building Your Author Platform kicks off the next six months in your journey. This phase will involve a variety of training videos as you explore options for growing an author platform and learn the how and why behind each piece that forms a solid platform to launch from.

During this time, you’ll continue to schedule bi-weekly one-on-one calls with me for feedback and assistance. There are many moving pieces to your author platform, so I estimate you will spend 8-10 hours a week building it.

Phase 3: Launching and Marketing is the most exciting part of your journey as you put all of your hard work into action and watch it take off. However, this can also be the most intensive.

You’ll be creating swipe copy and images to share with your launch team, drafting and scheduling email campaigns and social media posts, scheduling podcast interviews, and creating ads. This part of the phase will take 12-14 hours a week to accomplish.

When you break the time down, you are looking at spending anywhere between 2-4 hours a day working on writing your novel, building your author platform, and launching and marketing your book. That sounds manageable to most of us, right? Especially when you look at the return on your time investment.

  • Many times, our writing gets stuck in hobby land, and we soon realize this hobby is draining our personal funds.

What if you invested those funds not only into your writing skills, but in your knowledge and skills to make a profit from your writing?

Sounds like a pretty good return on your investment, right? That’s because it is. The LiteraryScape Author Mentorship doesn’t just help you craft a great novel, it gives you the knowledge and tools to make a profit off the sales of your book. Not only that, but you walk away with the ability to replicate this process for every book you write.

  • This is a great question and one I want to answer honestly because I didn’t build this program with a profit mindset, but rather a servant’s mindset.

Yes, I want to make a profit from this program to pay the bills, but my number one focus is you and helping you reach success in your author career.

With that being said I do not offer a money back guarantee.

I have no doubt that if you put the hard work in and continue to effectively utilize the knowledge and skills you gain from my mentorship, you will not only earn back what you’ve invested but you’ll go beyond it.

Think of it as college. Many of us invested $40,000 or more in our careers when we attended college. Never did we expect to earn that money back as soon as we graduated.

The LiteraryScape Author Mentorship is a five-figure investment in your author career that will pay you back over time.

Please note that I do NOT suggest you go into debt with my mentorship program. I do have the total cost broken into manageable monthly payments. This is something we can discuss during your discovery call.

  • That’s wonderful! You’ll be able to start on Phase 2 right away.

I realize that everyone is entering this program at a different starting point and each person moves at their own pace. Therefore, you have access to all three phases from the start of your mentorship. This allows you to move to the section you are ready for.

I have also built in what I like to call check-up appointments every six months. This allows both you and me to evaluate how things are going and what the next best step is for you.

It really is a win-win for everyone!

  • Both!

The mentorship is primarily designed for authors seeking to publish independently but prepares those who want to be traditionally published as well.

You’ll finish the mentorship with the knowledge and skills to publish, market, and sell your books independently. You can use those same skill sets to develop a proposal, platform, and marketing plan that is irresistible to agents and publishers.

I love to support and encourage authors as they seek to publish the stories God has laid on their hearts. So, whether you want to publish independently or traditionally, I’m here to help!

I’d love to guide you through your author journey, with God in the lead.

Let’s chat and then take time to pray and see if this is the next step God wants you to take in your author career.
